Sponsors and Helpers

The ride is run by members and friends of Manchester Velo Cycling Club. Thanks to organiser Dave Riley for pulling it all together and Pete Lickfold for taking complete control of the entries and signing on procedure.

All signs around the route are erected & removed by Dave, Steve Grundy, Jim Richardson and Nev Ashman and this operation alone takes 8 hours on the Friday before the ride and 8 hours again on the Monday after it. Feeding/Controls are in the hands of Pat Graves and Ann Watson with Brian Roebuck ensuring that the food and drinks are in the right place at the right time.

Timing and Starting is in the hands of Bernard Metcalfe and Geoff Kirman and the important job of getting 300+ cars parked is looked after by ex Great Britain international rider Ray Barker.

Free tea, coffee and snacks inside H.Q. at the finish is supplied and organised by Jim and Liz Broadhurst. There are numerous other people whose help is really appreciated and "on the day" it takes 30-35 people to get the ride on the road.
